Our Team

Alanna Fleischer

Alanna founded The Edible Story in 2016 with a vision of creating thoughtful food experiences shaped by her background in recipe testing, culinary content development, and event production, where creativity drives the passion. A graduate of George Brown College, she studied culinary arts in France and Italy and has worked with international food brands, bringing both refinement and real-world experience to everything she creates.

Co-Founder

Brian Cheng

Brian brings a strong foundation in technique and execution to The Edible Story, shaped by years working in some of Toronto’s top restaurants. A graduate of George Brown College, he has worked in Michelin-recognized kitchens in Italy and spent time in India, and moved into catering to bring thoughtful, well-executed food to the events world.

Co-Founder

Gavin is a chef with a diverse background, from fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels to wildlife expeditions in the Arctic, and teaching young children how to cook. A graduate of George Brown College, he brings a thoughtful, adaptable approach to cooking, with a strong focus on flavour, consistency, and quality.

The Edible Story was created from a shared background in food and a love of gathering people around the table. Brian is a chef with years of experience working in restaurants, bringing a deep understanding of cooking, kitchens, and service. Alanna is the creative force and planner behind the business, shaping the vision, flow, and overall experience of each event.

Together, they approach food and events with the same mindset: thoughtful, well-executed, and grounded in care. Menus are designed with balance and flavour in mind, and every detail, from timing to presentation is considered.
